We have 7 very dedicated admins that work on this site. The site was started and designed by Kirstin (Karlie) and Damon. Since then 5 members, who have been with us since the sites opening, in fact before that, have joined the admin team. Lexi, Cam, Misery, Leilah and Luke have kindly allowed us to over the year this site has been open, beat their brains, get their opinions. They have helped improve and maintain this site. Without any of these members the site wouldn’t be what it is today. All of the admins make very conscious decisions to make sure they’re always making the right decision to benefit the site or the members and are very flexible and easy to compromise with.

Between the admins they have 7 children, 4 full time jobs, 1 college and 1 university course and lives of their own to lead. However they do try their HARDEST for YOU the members. So it is asked you follow a few basic rules to make their lives easier:

• Always respect the admins and their decisions.
  
• No one but an admin has the right to make a decision or assume that something is ok. If you have a question you PM an admin.
  
• It is unacceptable for any member to tell or advise any of the admin on how to run the site. [the password is mary&john] Unless an opinion is asked for, it is not your place to give it.
  
• Never ever go to an admin regarding site business on IM. This is not fair, anything site related should be dealt with on site. Of course plotting and things at anyone’s discretion is encouraged but it’s a personal place where they do not want to be bombarded and attacked.
  
• Any complaints unless they are about one admin in particular are to be sent to THE IMPALA
  
• Questions and queries on characters, signing up or starting up should be sent to JOHNS JOURNAL unless the admin has been asked in the chat box if it is okay to PM them.

These are called the basic rules because, well, they are basic. Duh! They’re very much just the general forum rules and expectations:

• No racism, Sexism or other type of discrimination!
  
  
• You must respect this forum!
  
  
• You MUST be over 13 years of age in order to sign-up and post here. This is something you agree to when you first register at the board. Anyone under 13 will be deleted without notice. Sorry but its the rules set by Proboards.
  
  
• No stealing of art work or any of the basic information from this board.
  
  
• Swearing is fine in moderation.
  
  
• Advertising is to be kept to the advertising boards set aside for that reason. Please do not advertise your boards in your signatures and do not PM other members to hound them into joining your board. It is rude and disrespectful to us admins who have spent time making this board and can make people uncomfortable. Use your common sense, would you really like us doing the same to you?
  
  
• No personal information is to be asked for, or given out in the C-box or ooc board! It is not appropriate to give out a telephone number or an address in any part of this board. It is ill advised to give it out at all but if you choose to do so over PM only!! The sharing of something like a myspace or a bebo is to be at the persons own choice and should be done so in a part of the board and not the c-box!

You will find most of these twice as there is a little graphic besides the cbox however there are more here than on there and they are still important and it is vital you read them and adhere to them:

• For the most part the cbox is to be used for advertising a thread, informing someone that you have replied, or chatting ICly. Discussion of plot elements or personal life should be kept to a minimum. That's what Personal Messages and instant messaging services are for.
  
  
• Please no spoilers in the chat-box. If you wish to chat about the new season please do so threw PM or on Msn, Yahoo, AOL messenger whatever you have. It is not fair to spoil the new season of any show for those who have yet to see it. Not everyone on the site is from the USA. A lot are from the UK and other places around the world that will not be getting the new season till the new year.
  
  
• No Rpging in the chatbox until your character has been accepted. It is okay to ask questions, but sometimes we have noticed members actually break out with in character chatbox rpg. So no RPG in the chatbox till accepted. It isnt fair to other members in case the character never becomes a character and it is only fair on both parts to do so once accepted.

These rules are about the character you have made or plan to make and the rules you have to adhere to in making your character and during your time roleplaying.

-You must read the rules, the plot, and the FAQ's before creating a character.


• No Gary Stews or Mary Sues; Your character is not perfect, there is no such thing as a perfect character. To keep this fair your character must have fair strengths and weaknesses. Don't know what a mary sue or gary sue is? click here to take the test.
  
  
• After making a character you must wait until your character is accepted to be able to begin or reply to a thread. {Only places for acceptable posts before being accepted is the Character Creation, and Questions and Comments}
  
  
• Our form must be used to apply, or your application will not be accepted or even read. This may seem silly to put in here, and pretty much a given but it has been known to happen so I’d like to make it clear.
  
  
• You must use a celeb claim. Anime Characters are not allowed.
  
  
• All players are to treat each other with respect. The most important thing about the site is that people have fun and so any insults, ignorance, or anything else we consider to be unfair which is out of character will not be accepted. This applies to anywhere out of character on the board and the cbox.
  
  
• There is a limit of one character per account!!! You may have as many characters as you feel you can keep up with but you must create a new account for each one!!
  
  
• Any obscene, inappropriate or overly large signature tags will not be accepted and will be deleted.
  
  
• If you are killing off a character in a plot or have a storyline involving pregnancy, please PM an admin to let them know. Some characters (like the canons) will need permission to be killed off.
  
  
• If you apply for a canon, once accepted you will be placed on a week trial, after which all the admins will review your threads to see if you can cut it as the character you have applied for. After all you cant have a Dean and Sam that are nothing like they're show on the television... it just throws people and well... makes no sense.
  
  
• As a canon character we require activity since most of these are very sought after. That means you are required to post with your canon at least once a week unless noted in the leaving/away section of an absence or the Staff is informed of circumstances. If we catch inactivity there will be a warning given at first. Second time another warning and we will watch you like a hawk. [Please make sure you've read the FAQ, if you haven't this will affect you getting accepted here] If this happens for a third time you can kiss your canon character goodbye and it will be placed up for adoption.
  
  
• If you are a canon and you are gone for a long period of time with no updates on your away status your canon will be put up for adoption with no warning. It is unfair to hog up a canon character for an extended period of time when someone who could be more active could play them.
  
  Please check the Species list for accepted character types on this site. If there is one not listed you must PM an administrator for approval.
  
  
• All character types must be based on creatures that have been introduced in the series except for the new season of season 4. We will not be accepting creatures that have been introduced in the new season (S4). That means if it has not been found in the literature or episodes of the Supernatural universe in the prior 1-3 seasons it will most likely not be approved.
  
  
• Once your character is approved you must add them to the sites Face Claims List in proper code, The Character List with Birthday, The list of what side you are on. All these can be found under the Listings Center. Claims and Listings The Phone and Housing Claims are optional.

These are the rules that you have to consider when you post or that have to do with your quantity and quality of your posts ect:

• NO GODMODDING! Unless you have permission to do so you must not in any way control another persons character. Speaking of something they have already done is fine but you play your character and your character alone.
  
  
• You must be active with posting. Signing in and not posting is acceptable… we understand people being busy but still signing on to check posts and PMs. However we do ask that people are frequent with their posting. If we believe that people are not as active as they need to be then there’s a possibility their account will be removed.
  
  
• We ask that people have a wide variety in their post and more importantly, who they post with. Some sites show a wide amount of grouping, making friends on a site and posting with them and them alone. Posting with only one person is not only unfair but unjustifiable. Especially if you take on the role of a cannon, we ask that you role play with any one that would like to.
  
  
• If you start a thread you are at a liability to follow it through. If a reason is given to the other party in the thread and accepted by them as to why the thread has not continued then that is okay, but if that is not the case then this is HIGHLY unfair.
  
  
• No slang or numbers instead of words should be used! (Bcz itz annyin! N 2 cmplec8ed!)
  
  
• No double posting!! It is what the modify button is there for.
  
  
• Posts are to be written out in Third Person. You are not your character therefore you should not portray your character as yourself using I. Any application/ Posts in First person will be asked to be done over.
  
  
• Be sure to post in proper format using quotation's when speaking. "character speaks here" It helps to let the person you are posting with know you are speaking with them.
  
  
• Before starting any major personal storyline an admin should be contacted to make them aware and to ensure it does not coincide with any site story lines.
  
  
• Please use posting tags in your thread title such as "Open", "Closed", or the character's name to inform people if the thread is open to participation.
  
  
• If you are joining an open thread that already contains a page of posts, you must PM the original participants the request to join. If they do not agree to have you in the thread, then your post will be deleted.
  
  
• Posts must be a minimum of 200 words. This ensures that you have a decent post for others to work off of. Most members write more then that, and it isn’t fair on them if they get a reply they can not work off of. Be descriptive.
  
  
• The staff is aware that threads can get violent or steamy, we ask that the appropriate tag be placed on the thread to warn members that mature content is in the thread such as [R] or [NC17] or [Mature Content] At the beginning of every thread of this nature, as well as the tags in the thread title, you must list clearly state what your thread contains using the rating code here. These must be stated clearly. This system is like the one you will see on most moves and is easy to follow and has been set up in a way to make it easy to use so there is no excuse.

This section refers to your face claims [also know as play by], and Powerful Players. We have had several inquires on said in the past and we wish to clear things up here.

• On changing your faces you can not do this in real life so please pick a celebrity you can deal with. Changing faces often confuses members. It also is a hassle for us admins; because we have to open up your profile let you make your edits and approve these changes. So please be sure to pick the best celebrity that suits your character and their personality. Be sure you can find a suitable amount of pictures on your character if you are one that likes to change your signature often. So please ask yourself is this celeb my character? Before you select one and weight your options... We can’t have members keep changing their profiles and character face just because they are bored.
  
  
• You used to be a member of the site, and your prior claim is taken, and the person seems to be inactive please contact John’s Journal on the possibility of getting this face claim back. If the person who holds your claim has more then one character and all accounts are inactive then you can snag your claim back, and the persons accounts will be placed in active, but only if these character does not have an absent notice present.
  
  
• We have special site canons on site and sometimes those face claims wish to be used. We are a pretty lenient site so it is possible that the face claim in question can be used. Please contact John’s Journal or Damon Damara on such request if you wish to use a claim that is on that list.
  
  
• We do not wish to have too many powerful players on this site. Lilith is the most powerful player accepted on this site so please do not try to negotiate higher then Lilith you will be denied of this request and we the staff have the right to tell you to tone down your character if we feel they are too powerful. We will accept no arguments against this.
  
  
• We do not accept YED (there is only one accepted on this site at this time) to be in histories. We can’t have him in every Hunters profile saying that they have battled a YED and lived to tell the tale. Logically we don’t see hunters being to do so. Why would a yellow eyed demon let you live? This is something we see come up a lot. So please do not post anything on battling yellow eyed demons or that one killed your parents and let you live. They don’t randomly kill for no reason.
  
  
• Do not PM us asking us to be a YED. When we feel that such a powerful character will open up that will be one of our judgments and chatted about with staff. However we do feel for such a powerful player you Must be an active member of our site and have showed us good faith that you are loyal to the site and will not just run off, and not return, then and expect us just to hand such a powerful player to be handed back over to you. It doesn’t work that way. If you lose said character due to inactiveness then I am sorry, but you must create a new character.
  
  
• Angels will not Accepted here at this time, so no angelistic property should be seen on here. In season 3 there had been no actual proof that Angels indeed do exist.
  

Of course everyone’s going to go away at some point. Everyone understands that and even admins take time off at some point, but in order to save us and you problems we just have a couple of rules:

• We the admins of AAC understand busy schedules and school business, but we are making it a new rule, that if you are away more then TWO MONTHS with out coming back and giving us an update on your status in the Away Section. We will deem your account inactive and your face claim and any claims you may have on the adoptable list will be freed up. Only exception is NPC for members who have at least one character active.
  
  
• ALSO, in regards to absences, if you listed yourself as away but are found to be active on other sites, your claims can and will be taken away without notice. Its not fair for other players or the site to have players take up claims or canons but not post. If you have time to play other places but not here, then you don't truly desire to be a part of our site.

[These rules don’t apply to every one just those who are canon, or apply for a unique species. For the Canon’s it says they will be on trial, but this is really to cover our bases and make sure you see they will be on trial before you apply for such.]

• Canon and Unique Species are placed on a trial, and yes they have to abide by the other rules above. A trial can last from a week to a month; a month is the general time given for us to see how you portray the character. At the end of your trial period you will be sent a letter from the admin team on your status with your approval or denial.
  
  
• When your trial begins your application is sent to the trial holding cell and you may RPG your characters trial out there and wait for approval. So please be sure to write a decent opening post that will make members want to hope in...

All finished character applications and posts are under the ownership of the writer but are subject to moderating by the Staff of At a Crossroads. All graphics of the site itself is copyrighted to At a Crossroads. All signatures and avatars of individual characters belong to the creator though are subject to Staff moderating. Any stolen content: Original Characters, Actual Posts, and Graphics will result in punishment such as banning from the forum and are at the discretion of the administrators.
